 3 Top Contenders For The Orange Cap In IPL 2023

The 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence on 31st March  2023, Friday when Defending champions Gujarat Titans clash horns with 4-time champions Chennai Super Kings in Narendra Modi stadium, the world's largest stadium in the world(Ahmedabad).


After a long wait of almost 3 years, the IPL 2023 will again witness home and away matches. 

Every cricket lover awaits this mega event where every match is mouth-watering.  Every time IPL adds something new to it, which makes it exciting every year.

It is given to the batter with the maximum number of runs in the tournament.

To date,  Australian dashing opener David Warner has received the Orange Cap on 3 occasions, which is the maximum thus far. He won it in 2015, 2017, and 2019.

A hard-hitting batsman and a wicket-keeper, Jos Buttler, is seen as a player who has everything to succeed in the shorter formats of the game.


He won the Orange Cap award after scoring 863 runs and scoring 4 centuries.

Buttler has been in pretty good form in international cricket and he is again one of the strongest contenders for the Orange Cap award in IPL 2023.

3. David Warner (Delhi Capitals)

The recipient of the Orange Cap award on 3 occasions, David Warner is a run-machine in the IPL.

He is presently sitting in the 3rd position in the list of most runs in the cash-rich league and is behind only Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.

In 162 matches, the Southpaw has amassed 5881 runs.

He will be leading the Delhi Capitals (DC) side in IPL 2023 in the absence of Rishabh Pant and will have his task cut out.
