CWC 2023 SF SCENARIO

                  CWC 2023 SF SCENARIO

The CWC  2023 has reached a critical juncture in the group stage, wherein teams have very few games left to secure a berth in the semi-finals. A total of 9 teams are still in contention for one of the semi-final spots, with Bangladesh being the only one to be knocked out. No team, yet, has confirmed their progress or been knocked out of contention for the semis. Let me share my thoughts on who might be the 4 semi-finalists for this mega event.

India looks absolutely favorite to secure the semi-final spot as they have played clinical cricket in this tournament, they are the only undefeated side so far. India sits comfortably at the top with 6 wins in as many matches with 12 points.

The star-studded panel of commentators has praised India for their dominance so far in this tournament. 1983 World Cup winner Ravi Shastri has said that India is the favorite to lift this cup for the 3rd time.

The 2nd team in my thought is the 5-time champion - Australia. They have played quality cricket as they are known for. They looked aggressive & clinical with bat & bowl.

They have set huge targets & bowled well to defend those targets. Their next 3 fixtures are with Afghanistan, England ( out of form)  & Bangladesh ( 1st team to be eliminated).

I have a strong feeling that they would be winning these matches very easily by huge margins.

They are the favorites to play the final in my thought .

My 3rd team is South Africa, the way they have played, they looked so different. The team is on juggernaut when they bat first they score 350 runs for fun. Quinton De Cock, the elegant left-hand opener is the highest run-getter of the tournament as well as another left-arm pacer Marco Jansen is among the top 5 wicket-takers of the tournament.

They look in the red hot form as they sit quietly at 12 points in the table. As per their fixtures, there is a mouth-watering match against India on the 5th of November & the last match against Afghanistan.

The 4th contender is Kiwis as the deserving candidate, though they have tasted 3 consecutive losses in this megaevent. They have matches against Pakistan & Sri Lanka. They have a balanced team with a good mixture of youth & experienced players.

So, this is my thought on who might play the semi-final starting From the 16th of this month.
