2022 has ended with many heartbreaks as an Indian Fan but in all this darkness there is one silver lining that is Virat is back. He scored a magnificent 100 in the last encounter against Afghanistan at an astonishing strike rate of 200. He scored 122 and remained not out.
Hope he remains in the same touch as 2023 is a world cup year, that too at home-there are more expectations, the same as in 2011.
So, let us have a look at the milestones he can achieve in 2023and near future :
1. Most Catches By An Indian In ODI :
Virat has so far taken 141 catches, he is second only to former Indian captain M.Azharuddin (156 catches ). He only needs 15 more catches, surely he can achieve I think.
2. Equalling BC Lara At List A :
Virat has so far scored 14,340 runs in his illustrious List A career. He is very close to the great legend BC Lara, who has amassed 14602 runs. He can cross West Indian great if he scores 350+ runs quickly.
3. Equalling Record of 49 ODI 100s :
Virat has registered 46 centuries in 274 matches in the 50-over format. he needs to score 6 more centuries to equal the unimaginable record of 49 100s held by our own favorite Sachin Tendulkar. He needs only 3 100s to equal him, I think he should achieve it this year only.
4. 5th Batsmen To Get 13k ODI Runs :
Virat is a run machine, a chase master in 50 overs. He has scored 12,898 runs so far with 46 100s. He just needs a few runs to become 5th batsmen in cricket history to score 13k runs.
